You'll recall that Square Enix recently touted a new Tomb Raider title as "Xbox exclusive," but it was later implied the deal was time-based. Naughty Dog, etc., but it's one of these new age deals again, like the one Microsoft made with EA/Respawn to ensure at least the first Titanfall did not exist on PlayStation whatsoever.īut we also have changing definitions in this day and age, and "exclusive" can sometimes shift into "timed exclusive," so it's probably too early to say if Microsoft will never see Street Fighter 5 on its shores, but it's not looking likely for a long while at the very least. This is not an exclusive in the sense that it's developed by someone with direct, longtime ties to Sony, ie. Sony must have made a pretty hefty deal with Capcom to ensure the game was released on PS4, with concessions allowing for PC, just not Microsoft's Xbox One. This new age of negotiated exclusivity is fascinating.
